Twelve apprentices in the MESEM programme we run with the local vocational school have finished their first year. They spend four days a week at the plant beside a master machinist and one day at school.
By the end of the year each apprentice read a part from its drawing, turned it on a lathe and wrote its report in the measuring room. The second term starts in September.
This is a demo news item; the company and its figures are fictional.
